KUCHING: Water supply in several Limbang areas has been fully restored.

Those areas are Tedungan, Kampung Mengatai, Ulak, Belading, Anak Bukit, Kuala Awang, Binjai, Ipai, Merasam Bumbun, Meritam, Telahak, Lubok Piasau, and others.

However, Kampung Lubok Sigantang/Aur remains without water supply.

In a concerted effort to address the water disruption, Laku Management, in collaboration with JBALB, had distributed over 325,000 litres of treated water and 1,246 boxes of bottled drinking water to residents as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

In a statement, the utility company detailed its recovery efforts, including releasing air locks from water mains and conducting visual inspections in low-pressure areas to identify leaks.

A significant leak on a 160mm pipe at Rh Aping, Jalan Medamit had been identified and repaired. Further, a comprehensive review of the Sluice Valve from the Berawan Reservoir is underway, with expectations to complete these checks within 24 hours.

Laku Management reassures that the water supply will gradually normalise across all areas once these measures are in place.

However, residents may notice turbidity in the water immediately following restoration.

The company advises that comprehensive flushing activities are planned to ensure the water’s cleanliness and safety.
