KUCHING: The authorities are addressing the water supply and piping problems affecting residents of Kampung Baru, Kota Samarahan.

Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang said plans were already in place to address the piping problems.

“We had been planning for the past few years on how to fully ensure that the issues pertaining to piping and water supply system in the village could be resolved,” she said during a visit to the village with the Kuching Water Board (KWB) recently.

Also present were KWB general manager Rodziah Mohamad and Samarahan district officer Anuar Daan as well as community leaders.

Rubiah said most of the pipes were under ground. “Work to renew the plumbing system in the village was made difficult due to the fact that it was under the houses.”

She added that the public needed to seek advice from the authorities first before doing any extension work on their houses.
