MIRI: An elderly man died after a car he was travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a pond near Kampung Iran along the Miri-Bintulu road, about 83km from the city here yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as 65-year-old Chan Pek Lam.
Miri firefighters were mobilised to the scene at 7.11am to extricate the body as he was trapped in the vehicle.
