KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan said Sarawak will only go bankrupt if Pakatan Harapan rules Sarawak.

“That’s the general view of the people and they are worried because of the way the country’s finances have been managed, Sarawak will be bankrupt if PH ever rules Sarawak,” Voon said in a press statement yesterday.

“I was in the coffee shop this (yesterday) morning and people voiced their concern if Pakatan Harapan (PH) should ever rule Sarawak.

“To them, Sarawak will go bankrupt if PH wins control of Petra Jaya. They voiced their unhappiness and urged Parti Bumi Kenyalang to lead the way to free Sarawak from economic and political discrimination by Malaya,” he said.

Voon warned Lim not to belittle the ability of Sarawakians, saying that since the British colonial government left Sarawak had governed itself well.

He said over the years, Sarawak was able to build up its reserves to RM31 billion, and this was despite Malaya’s plunder of the state’s wealth.

“If PH thinks it’s so capable of managing the economy, then return back to Sabah and Sarawak all marine wealth, territorial waters or sea territory, oil and gas and let us see whether Malaya can survive or not.”

Voon blasted Lim for calling upon the people to help DAP topple the state government, saying, “It is Sarawakians’ right to choose their government and if the GPS government is not up to the mark, surely, we will remove it.

“Being from Malaya, all Malayan political parties have no business here. Malaya has nothing to do with Sarawak in the determination of Sarawak’s destiny.

“Sarawak belongs to Sarawakians, not Malaya. Our late Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem advised Sarawakians to take care of Sarawak properly and therefore, it is not for Malayans to poke their noses here.

“Do not get your proxies or agents to destabilise our economy and harmony here.

“Let me say this: Parti Bumi Kenyalang tells you to get out! It’s enough!” he stressed.
