KUCHING: Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) president Datuk Richard Wee is contemplating legal actions against state Democratic Action Party (DAP) member Michael Kong for his alleged defamatory Facebook Page posting.

“I have instructed my lawyers to take appropriate legal actions as the allegations are highly untruthful, unfounded and constitute a scurrilous attack on my reputation, character and standing,” he said in a brief statement today (July 27).

The statement was issued in relation to the “grave and serious liable” posting by Kong on his Facebook Page at 6.24pm on July 21.

Wee said his earlier press statement that the Chinese were trending more towards Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) was based on his personal observation.

According to him, his observation was based on feedback gathered from a cross-section of the community including community leaders and businessmen.

“Michael Kong has taken what I have said out of spite and maliciously attacked my character and reputation,” he added.
