‘We’ll still be govt of the day after state election’

LIMBANG: Come the 12th State Election in 2021, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will still be the government of the day.

Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said that GPS is not the opposition in the state but is still and will be the government after the election.

“For us to have this victory, all the four components parties must move together in the same direction that is to defend the rights of Sarawak,” he said during the GPS Flag Rally at Limbang Civic Centre, yesterday.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Assistant Minister of Agriculture, called upon all members of GPS to render their support to the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg so that GPS can achieved its objective in making Sarawak a developed State by 2030.

“I can assure you that GPS will have the fullest support from the Limbang community,”

“GPS Limbang will continue to fight for Bukit Kota and Batu Danau as the stronghold of GPS,” he pointed out.

According to Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the GPS Limbang Zone Head, said since last time people in Limbang have always been hardcore supporters of parties who protect and get back Sarawak’s rights which have been eroded by the federal government.

Also present were Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting, all youth chiefs of SUPP, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), and Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang.

About 800 GPS Limbang members and community were present to witnessed the flag rally and handing of GPS flag from Ting to Dr Abdul Rahman yesterday.
