MIRI: An elderly man was lucky to have escaped unharmed after his four-wheel drive (4WD) plunged into a monsoon drain on Friday.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu when contacted yesterday confirmed the incident.
The incident happened at 5.30pm at KM 87 Miri-Bintulu coastal road.
“Prior to the incident, the 63-year-old victim was on his way to Miri from Bintulu. While navigating the sharp bend at the scene, he lost control of the 4WD,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59.
