KUCHING: Incumbent Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin said he is confident that the party leadership will make the right decision on the candidate to contest the seat in the 15th general election (GE15).

“Wait and see. I have joined the party (Party Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu). I have to wait for the leadership’s decision.

“My rule as an incumbent and the caretaker Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, I have to continue my job to serve the people and to ensure that their wellbeing is taken care of,” he said.

Willie was responding to a reporter’s question who asked him if Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) leaders have whispered to him on his candidacy.

“At this moment it is premature for us to say anything related to my candidacy.

“We have to respect the leadership’s decision and I am sure they have their own people to see what we have done.

“If they give me the opportunity to put (nominate) me then I will make sure I will deliver the seat to Parti Gabungan Sarawak,” he said.
