BETONG: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) machinery must be wise and courageous to fend off political lies that are often spread by the opposition through social media platform.
Saribas assemblyman, who is also PBB Saribas branch chairman Mohammad Razi Sitam said the party’s machinery at all levels, should be pro-active in addressing the issues less the people would be deceived.
“This social media threats if not handled effectively will result in people being deceived especially with the approaching state election,” he said in an interview with New Sarawak Tribune’s sister paper Suara Sarawak.
He said the party machinery should also play an active role to ensure the people would benefit from the development policies of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and initiatives introduced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Razi said, contrary to claims by the opposition, Abang Johari had proven to be a man of his word.
“Kato urang Saribas, nisik ado air liur ajak! (literally translated as ‘just like what the Saribas folk say; it’s not just hot air!) Abang Johari meant what he promised; he has in fact successfully delivered many of his pledges.
“The people must continue to rally their undivided support behind Team Abang Johari under GPS in the coming state election. There’s no need to look at other symbol other than GPS,” he added.
Razi assured that PBB in Saribas would strive to secure bigger mandate in the seat at the upcoming state election.
“I believe the people will give their undivided support to GPS candidate as they want to see continuous development in the constituency,” he said.
