KOTA SAMARAHAN: Narcotics police have arrested three locals including a woman on Thursday for allegedly abusing drugs.

According to Kota Samarahan district police headquarters (IPD), the team detained the suspects for inspection as they were believed to be abusing drugs in an open area in Taman Samarindah.

Examinations found that one of them had a plastic packet containing suspected syabu weighing 0.70g. He will be investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

All of them, aged between 20 and 23, were later taken to the Kota Samarahan narcotics office for further procedures.

Urine tests found that all of them tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and they will be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Following that, Kota Samarahan IPD is intensifying efforts to curb drug abuse activities in areas under its jurisdiction.
