Illegal lottery
KUCHING: Police arrested a 33-year-old woman suspected of illegal lottery activities during an ‘Ops Dadu’ operation in Bau near here on Wednesday (Oct 21).
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a raid was conducted on a house at Kampung Opar after complaints were received regarding the suspect.
In a statement on Thursday (Oct 22), he added that police also seized cash amounting to RM132, a piece of paper with numbers written on it, and a smartphone.
He said the suspect had no previous criminal record and was arrested under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
