MIRI: A 20-year-old woman was killed when a car she was in, along with five others, skidded to the left side and crashed into a road divider near an oil palm mill at Miri-Bintulu Pan Borneo highway on Sunday.

A team of Batu Niah firefighters was dispatched to the accident scene after responding to an emergency call at 4.36 pm.

“Upon arrival at the scene, the firefighters found a white Proton Iswara that was believed to have skidded and collided with the road divider,” said the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue department chief Rary Binjie.

Firemen remove deceased’s body from vehicle.

Rary said that the woman’s body, which was still in the passenger seat on the right side, was then removed and handed over to the police for further action.

The deceased has been identified as Diana Tinsie Douglas.

The other five victims who survived the crash have been taken to a nearby clinic by members of the public.
