SARATOK: A woman was treated for minor burns sustained during a fire which razed her neighbour’s house at dusk yesterday.

The 55-year-old sustained burns to her left hand, cheek and ear while trying to save her vehicle during the outbreak.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak spokesperson said firemen were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call diverted from Malacca at 5.48am regarding a fire incident at Jalan Seeder Pusa, Pekan Baru Pusa.

Firefighters from Betong and Saratok fire stations arrived at the scene to discover the entire structure gutted by the fire and proceeded to douse the flames while the victims were given initial treatment by the EMRS unit and was send to the Pusa Clinic.

The operation ended at 8.16am, with the cause of the fire under investigation.

Firemen continue to put out the flames that gutted a house in Pusa.
