SIBU: A 33-year-old woman suffered burns after the shop lot she was in at Jalan Unggas here caught fire this morning ((Jan 25).
Sibu Fire and Rescue (Bomba) chief Suna Kaha said the victim suffered burns on about 10 per cent of her arm.
“Firefighters from the Sibu and Sungai Merah fire stations were deployed to the scene following a distress call at 5.25 am.
“The fire involved a two-storey restaurant that burned almost 100 percent in the lower floor,” he said.
Suna said firemen acted fast to contain the fire before wrapping up their operations at 6.06 am.
The cause of the fire and losses are yet to be ascertained.
