Woman injured in two-car crash

Date:

KUCHING: A woman suffered a back injury in a crash involving two vehicles in front of Emporium Kuching, Jalan Tun Jugah here on Sunday (Oct 17).

The incident happened at 12.35am when both vehicles — a Proton Wira and a Toyota Estima — were travelling in the same direction.

A dashcam footage revealed that the accident happened when the driver of the Toyota Estima on the right lane lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the rear of the Proton Wira on the left lane.

The impact caused the Proton Wira to spin once before entering the sidewalk in front of Emporium. The Toyota Estima, meanwhile, skidded into the road divider and entered the opposite lane.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, who confirmed the case, said the 26-year-old driver of the Proton Wira suffered injuries to her back while the other motorist, 57, escaped unharmed.

He also said it was drizzling at the time of the accident.

The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59.
