KUCHING: A 43-year-old woman suffered burns and was left homeless after her house was destroyed in an early morning fire.
The Fire and Rescue Department dispatched a team from Siburan to the scene at Kampung Mambong, Jalan Mambong here after being alerted to the fire at 6.15 am today.
The house was occupied by three locals.
It was reported that the woman suffered burns to her hand when she went back to the house to retrieve some belongings. The other occupants aged 42 and 14 managed to escape unhurt.
She was immediately rushed to the Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby houses.
