Woman swept away by waterhead while collecting river pebbles

LAWAS: A woman in Kampung Long Sukang, is missing after she was reportedly swept away by a waterhead today.

The Fire and Rescue Service Department has launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation for the victim, identified as Rebecca John, aged 24, after they were notified of the incident at 4.35pm.

Prior to the incident, Rebecca together with her sister-in-law, Jenny Paris, also 24, were collecting river pebbles when the waterhead suddenly approached and swept the victim away.

Jenny survived in the incident.
