Woman’s ex-boyfriend detained for attempted murder

MIRI: A 29 year-old woman was injured, while her boyfriend escaped unhurt, after a motorcycle they were riding on was allegedly ran down by her former boyfriend at Jalan Taman Jelita in Taman Tunku last Friday.

The incident occurred around 5.30pm when the victim and her partner were riding on a motorcycle along the area, when suddenly a Proton Saga car with three men inside approached and rear-ended them.

One of the men inside the car was identified as the woman’s former boyfriend.

The woman’s ex-beau then exited the car armed with a machete and a hammer, while walking towards the victims.

However, both victims managed to flee the scene and lodged a police report.

Acting on the report lodged, police arrested the victim’s former boyfriend and his two friends to assist in their investigation into the case.

All suspects aged 34, 42 and 45 are currently being detained for questioning.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
