Women and Family Seminar attracts 150

LIMBANG: More than 150 women around the division converged here at a Seminar on Women and Family organised by Perkim Limbang Branch yesterday.

In his opening address to open the seminar the Assistant Minister of Welfare and Community Wellbeing who is also Bukit Kota Assemblyman Dr. Abdul Rahman Ismail, pointed out that women needed to come together to seek knowledge in the paced era of using information technology.

“Juman capital development should cover all scopes of life, from young to elderly regardless of gender. It is capable of producing a culture of excellence among the public, especially those living in rural areas.

“Seminar on Women and Family organised by PERKIM Limbang Branch is viewed as the best platform for women to add their knowledge to face the challenges and development of information technology,” he said at the opening ceremony of the seminar organised in collaboration with Permanent Committee for Islamic Festivals of Limbang.

At the same time, he wanted to see the programme held at government agencies, private agencies and association and should be participated proactively to improve their knowledge.

In addition, more courses on the empowerment of knowledge among youths about current issues also need to be more tailored to their stronghold in addressing the various issues raised in social media, he said.

Also present were Member of Parliament for Limbang Hasbi Habibollah, Limbang District Officer Jamalie Busri, Limbang Islamic Religious Department Officer Ustaz Awang Abdul Rahim Awang Rosely and Perkim Limbang Branch Chairman Dayang Maimunah Awang Mohd Daud.
