BINTULU: Dayak women in Kemena are advised to join Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) to strengthen the voice of Dayak women in the state.

Kemena SIDS chairwoman Jenny Bangga said they need to be united if they want to empower Dayak women.

“SIDS provides various platforms such as educational, leadership, economic and other opportunities to expand the role of Dayak women.

“Women can no longer be spectators to the development of the country — we should be contributors,” she said during a ‘Berambeh Bersama’ programme today (July 26).

At the same event, Jenny, who is also the political secretary to the chief minister, wants professionals to come forward to help those who are still struggling to find a way so that their success can be shared with everyone.

“Many Dayak women can contribute by boosting the state towards a high-income economy which in turn can contribute to this country,” she said.

A total of 70 women bureau members participated in the programme which also included a demonstration on how to make dishwashing soap by CC Beauty founder Cecelia Lagak, and Iban embroidery.
