KUCHING:  A women empowerment programme called “BeYOUtiful” held in conjunction with International Women’s Day last week has ended at Plaza Merdeka’s Atrium here last night.

Themed “#BalancedforBetter”, the event emphasised the importance of wellbeing and embraced the uniqueness of beauty, and to make women feel confident about themselves.

As part of the International Women’s Day celebration, Plaza Merdeka shopping mall organised the Little Miss Merdeka, a beauty pageant for children.

Natalie Chai, seven, emerged the winner, bringing home a sash, cash voucher and a crown.

Chloe Bong placed second, also bringing home the title of Special Award Best Dress, receiving a sash, cash voucher and a crown.

Jesslyn Kho was third.

Among those present were representatives of co-organisers Ida Hanicomb, Rozie Khan Couture, Borneo Wolves Studio, Kelvin Cgab Photography, Le Atelier Makeup and Creative Studio, and The Champions, supported by Subway and Limkokwing Institute Borneo.
