KAPIT: The much delayed renovation and upgrading of Kapit Sports Stadium is finally seeing the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

It was re-tendered after the previous contractor failed to complete the work as scheduled, which was March-November 2018.

The contract has now been awarded to Kuching-based Rizquna Sdn Bhd following a successful bid.

A ceremony to hand over documents was done on Tuesday between Wee Teck Ming, the officer in charge of physical development from Kapit Resident’s Office, and Rizquna managing director Ruzaiman Ghazalee.

Also present were Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) CEO Dr Ong Kong Swee and Tapah Ata, a political secretary to the Chief Minister.

They were joined by Kapit Resident’s Office administrative officer Nium Lium, Kapit District Office administrative officer Robert Anyaw; Peter Jarrau, officer in charge of Kapit Sports Field, Darnison Patan from Sarawak Youth and Sports, Mohammad Fairzuan Lai Nanang from SSC and Muhammad Zulhilmi Anuwar from Arkitek Seniformasi Sdn Bhd, Kuching.
