KUCHING: Works are progressing smoothly on three major projects currently being implemented in the Sematan sub-district, said Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.
“One of the projects is the upgrading of the Sematan jetty under Projek Rakyat worth RM5 million. Besides that, there is also a project to repair the retaining wall and road maintenance at Jalan Trusan Jaya.
“The latter is a project under Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris) with an allocation of RM500,000.
“Apart from that, a landscape project at the Sungai Sematan waterfront is also being implemented with an allocation of RM550,000,” she said after visiting the projects site to monitor their progress on Thursday (July 15).
Meanwhile, Jamilah said a proposed community hall at Lot 172, Sematan costing RM2.24 million is still in the design stage and would be tendered out soon.
“Despite facing the movement control order (MCO), the projects are still ongoing but will be slightly delayed due to the movement restrictions,” she said.
The assemblywoman urged the constituents to take the Covid-19 vaccine rollout seriously and get their vaccine jabs.
“This is not only to protect themselves but for the benefit of the whole society who want to return to normalcy.”
