Yadim, NGOs ease flood victims’ burden

Yadim Sarawak volunteers and representatives from various NGOs distributing assistance to flood victims.

KUCHING: Flood victims from the Samarahan and Serian divisions received assistance from the Islamic Da’wah Foundation of Malaysia (Yadim) and Islamic non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

They handed over hygiene kits and dry packed food totalling 59 packets to flood victims to ease their burden during this difficult time.

There are 15 affected families placed at the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at SK Kampung Endap and four families placed at the PPS at Lubok Buntin Community Hall in Samarahan.

While in Serian, 12 families are placed at the PPS at Kampung Seniawan Jepon Hall, and 28 families at the PPS at Kampung Rimba Padi.

Present to handover the flood assistance was Yadim Sarawak director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat.

Aside from the assistance given by Yadim, the team also assisted the Batang Sadong Parliament Office to distribute assistance from Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri to flood victims in Lubok Buntin.

Among those involved in the distribution of assistance and providing logistics include Hornbill Triton Club, Sarawak Muslim Students Welfare Association (Perkepis), Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (Abim) Sarawak, NasruddinCare and Yadim volunteers.
