Yayasan hands out school vouchers to 412 students

KUCHING: Some 412 students from all over Kuching have received school vouchers from Yayasan Sarawak. Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate and incumbent for Petra Jaya, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was present to hand out the vouchers during a ceremony at SK Encik Buyong here, yesterday.

“This is among the various forms of assistance from the government for the people and in this case, we have a responsibility to develop human capital and make sure the generations ahead can lead the country for us. “Through Yayasan Sarawak, not only are vouchers given out but also other forms of assistance such as loans and scholarships, and sending students outside the home state to study.

“We want our children to embrace the concept of lifelong learning and we are committed to providing opportunities for them to gain knowledge. “That way, we can ensure that they will be successful in whatever they do and are able to compete with others.

“It is said that if we want to see the future, we can see the generation of youths today,” he said, adding that their future is the collective responsibility of our generation. Also present at the event was Samariang Assemblywoman and Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations, and Project Monitoring, Sharifah Hasidah Syeed Aman Ghazali.
