KUCHING: Thirty Yayasan Sarawak-sponsored students received their scaffolding proficiency certificate here today.

They were later advised to make full use of this skill to further their career. “Opportunities in the construction industry are plenty. What’s needed are effort and persistence,” said Mersal Abg Rosli.

“I am delighted with the efforts and achievements of all participants – some who have come from far and willing to leave their hometowns, to gain knowledge to progress their career.

“I have been informed that the students already have found work with a company,” the Yayasan Sarawak director said at the graduation ceremony of Batch 1, Scaffolding Installation / Scaffolding Programme 2022.

“Yayasan Sarawak is committed to playing the role of ensuring that the younger generation, such as graduates, receive job opportunities.

“If our youths do not venture into technical and vocational fields such as scaffolding as offered at SRC Global Resources, then these lucrative job opportunities will be lost to foreign workers, and they are the ones who fill up the vacant positions in the construction industry.

“Well done to the graduates who successfully completed their training at SRC Global Resources.”

On another note, he revealed that the cost of sponsoring a participant was high – at RM8,500 per person and this included fees, meals, accommodation and allowance.

Also present at the ceremony were Nor Hisham Mohd Arifin, the chief executive officer of SRC Global Resources Sdn Bhd and Mohamad Yusri Hamden, the corporate general manager of SRC Global Resources Sdn Bhd.
