IPOH: At the tender age of 10, V. Kiranyaah here has developed the habit of reading a book for two hours every day.

Fiction-based reading materials have been the Sekolah Kebangsaan Marian Convent pupil’s favourite since she was four years old.

Her deep interest in reading has made her set a record of borrowing 105 books from the Tun Razak Library here, last year.

“I will spend two hours every day, at noon or before bed to read after finishing my homework or doing revision. I can read 200 pages in just one hour.

“I like to read and look at the pictures in the book as well as learn new words or how to build sentences. It really helps me a lot,” said the eldest of three siblings.

Kiranyaah was met by reporters after the Ipoh City Council-level World Book Day 2021 celebration which was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, here today.
