KUCHING: Youth Movement Malaysia (YMM Padungan) organised a ‘Famine Kids 8 Hours DIY Camp’ at SJK Chung Hua No. 1 yesterday.

Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan was invited to give a talk on volunteerism and charity work.

The main purpose of the event was to keep the campers hungry for eight hours, with the hope that every child participant (under 12 years old) will be able to experience what hunger is all about.

Choo Chin Moi, the headmaster of the SJK Chung Hua School No.1, presented Kelvin with a souvenir and thanked him for taking his time to come to the school and share his experiences with the students.

Some 500 students were present at the event.

YMM will be setting up a register counter at Cityone Shopping Mall this Sunday (Aug 5), from 10am to 5pm. For further information, contact the camp leader, Pink on 016-8897536.
