MIRI: Those choosing to work on their own can also succeed if they dare and are committed to pursue their dreams.
“Please stop classifying it (self-employment) as a second class job as it is also capable of generating income if done with commitment,” said Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
She was speaking on Saturday after launching NK Grill, an eatery premises in Permyjaya here.
“Negative perceptions of self-employment over working as civil servants in the public sector should change as it also can generate income,” she added.
She said the state government had been always supportive of young people who choose to be self-employed by going into food businesses or other industries.
Also present was her husband Datuk Dr Adi Badiozaman Tuah.
