MUKAH:  Mukah Parliament Youth Organisation (PBPM) will have its own activity centre here soon.

Construction work on the RM250,000 building is ongoing and is expected to be completed in mid-April.

The project, under the rural transformation programme (RTP), was implemented by Mukah Division Public Works Department (JKR), and the contractor is Dick & Sons Enterprise.

A survey by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday found that the project was still at an early stage of constructing the floor section.

PBPM chairman Royston Valentine said he thanked the Sarawak government for approving the construction a new youth activity centre here.

He added the application for the project was made through Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib.

“When the centre is completed, activities could be organised smoothly and consistently,” he said.

Royston added he thanked former Mukah MP Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Leo Michael Toyad who is the organisation’s patron for his contribution, as he was also involved in mooting the establishment of a youth activity centre here a few years ago.
