KUCHING: The preparation of bubur lambuk (savoury porridge), conducted on a gotong-royong (work party) basis, has enabled to foster teamwork among members of the Sarawak National Youth Organisation (Saberkas).
Its deputy president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi lauded the participation of youth in the bubur lambuk roadshow programme.
He said it is an annual Saberkas event that serves to strengthen relationships among youth.
“Programmes like this can foster a spirit of cooperation among its members. This is one of our efforts to attract young people in engaging in positive activities,” he said during the Saberkas Pantai Damai branch bubur lambuk roadshow programme in collaboration with Saberkas Kampung Panglima Seman Ulu on Saturday (May 1).
Dr Abdul Rahman added that the programme was held in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the relevant authorities to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
During the event, a total of 450 containers of the porridge were distributed to residents of Kampung Panglima Seman Ulu.
Also present were Panglima Seman Ulu village head Mohamad Hamdan, Saberkas Pantai Damai chairman Mohd Hasfa Saleh and Saberkas Kampung Panglima Seman Ulu chairman Azlan Hassan.
