BETONG: The BeYouth Festival (BeYouth Fest) 2023 programme, organised by Politeknik METrO Betong (PMB), is scheduled to take place this weekend, offering opportunities for young job seekers.

According to the event’s spokesperson, Emilyn Nojen, PMB was entrusted to organise the programme initiated by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.

“We invite young job seekers to visit the BeYouth Fest this Saturday and Sunday and bring relevant documents,” Emilyn told Suara Sarawak yesterday.

The festival comprises two segments, the Betong Education and Career Fair and the Betong Youth Day.

Several private companies including Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA), Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn Bhd, TYM Construction Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Keluarga Sumiran Kuching Berhad, Plaza Premium Group, Rasa Indah Cafe, and PMB Investment, will conduct open interviews throughout the festival.

The festival also features an educational exhibition for SPM graduates who want to learn where to continue their studies. PMB, Betong Community College, Sarawak Skills, and Centre of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS) promotion teams will host the exhibition.

Furthermore, the festival invites agencies and industry parties such as the Labour Department, Social Security Organization (SOCSO), and Mary Kay to provide job tips.

Aside from these, the Betong Youth Day program will take place simultaneously, offering a variety of activities, including performances from local artists such as Iban singer Ricky El, United Kids of Oi and Happily Ever After, and Din’s Busker. Food and drink sales will also be available, in addition to an exhibition of local handicrafts and PMB students’ final year innovation projects.
