KUCHING: A youth was fined RM8,400, in default five months’ imprisonment, by the Magistrates’ Court here today on three charges of drug abuse.
Steven Ade Donny, 21, from Kampung Sungai Nibong, pleaded guilty to each charge read out by an interpreter in front of magistrate Zaiton Anuar.
He was accused of administering dangerous drugs such as amphetamine and methamphetamine into his body via injection.
Prosecution of the case was made in accordance with Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 15 (1) of the same Act.
Magistrate Zaiton fined the accused RM2,800 for each charge.
Insp Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
