Youth urged to grab job opportunities

SRI AMAN: The younger generation is urged to grab employment opportunities from agencies that offer jobs in the plantation and sales service sectors.

Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said that the sector has great potential and can benefit the local community as the jobs require competence and abilities that must be mastered by the younger generation.

According to Harden, the sector can also contribute to the economic growth and development of the country in addition to having the potential to provide large profits to individuals and companies involved in related activities.

Harden, who is also Simanggang assemblyman said this at the launch of Career and Education Carnival organised by the Sarawak United National Youth Organization (SABERKAS) in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) held here recently.

He added that applications can be submitted to agencies registered with the Labour Department and among them are Malaysia Construction Academy Sarawak, METRO Politeknik Betong, YAHOS School of Skills, MSU College Sarawak, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), E.D.U Genius Services, Center of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS), Giatmara Sri Aman, Giatmara Saratok, Betong Community College and
i-CATS University College.

Other agencies include Plaza Premier Lounge Malaysia Sdn Bhd, McDonald’s Malaysia (Gerbang Alaf Restaurant Sdn Bhd), Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA), INRUN Motor Sdn Bhd, OSADI Employement Agency Sdn Bhd and Icon Trans.

At the event, Harden presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant amounting to RM30,000 to SABERKAS Simanggang branch and RM6,000 to the Sri Aman Football Association.
