SIBU: All residents living in Zone 10 area of Kampung Datu are urged to undergo the Covid-19 swab test tomorrow (18 March).

Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee said, the Ministry of Health (MoH) will hold a large-scale active case detection (ACD) swab test at the parking lot of Masjid An-Nur Sibu.

“This is a follow up to the declaration of Downstream Cluster by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Tuesday.

“The ACD will be held over for two days (Mar 18 – 19) to detect those who may be infected with the pandemic following the Downstream Cluster,” said the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing.

Dr Annuar said the existence of the cluster made Zone 10 Kampung Datu in the administrative area of Sibu Municipal Council (MPS) a red zone.

“To all residents of Zone 10, please cooperate, come and do the Covid-19 swab test screening tomorrow. It will take place on March 18 to 19, from 9am to 1pm on Thursday while on Friday it will start from 9am to 12noon in the car park area outside Masjid An-Nur Sibu,” he said today.

The Nangka assemblyman also reminded all residents involved to bring their identity card and inform their phone number correctly to the MoH.

“This is important to make it easier for the MoH to find or track you when your swab results are issued either positive or negative.

“I also request local community leaders to monitor and guide their people on this matter,” he said.

Zone 10 covers Kampung Hilir, Kampung Datu Lama, Jalan Masjid, Kampung Pa’Dris, Sungai Bakong, Kampung Bharu, Lorong Nanas, Lorong Lang Lane, Lorong Isau and Lorong Bangau.
