10 new PUI cases recorded

KUCHING: The state recorded 10 new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Covid-19 outbreak as of 10.30am yesterday.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee, of the number, six are at Sarawak General Hospital, three at Miri Hospital and one at Bintulu Hospital.

Since Jan 10 up till 10.30am yesterday, Sarawak has recorded a total of 177 PUI cases, of which, 157 had tested negative for the disease.

From the 177 cases, Malaysians accounted for 147, followed by 22 Chinese nationals, two Vietnamese, two Pakistani, one Thai, one Indonesian, one Canadian and an Australian.

Meanwhile, 20 cases are awaiting laboratory test results. They include 16 cases at Sarawak General Hospital, three at Miri Hospital and one at Bintulu Hospital.

The Health Department yesterday screened 14,298 arrivals to the state at all its airports, sea and land entry points which brings to a total of 353,325 screenings since February 1 this year.
