MUKAH: An early morning fire yesterday completely destroyed a 13-door longhouse — Rh Budin — at Kampung Sungai Duan and left 105 residents homeless.

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre received a call on the incident through MERS 999 at 4.15am and immediately deployed Mukah Bomba to the location.

The fire was believed to have started from a kitchen in one of the rooms.

Firemen used two hose streams that stretched 200ft from four nozzles to extinguish the fire and managed to get it under control by 7am.

No casualties were reported and the incident is currently under investigation.
