KUCHING: A total of 11 volunteers, who were involved in the charity concert of Sri Satok Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK), received certificates of appreciation during a dinner held at Grand Margherita Hotel near here, on Monday.

The certificates were presented by Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Amar Dato Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, who is also the Patron and Advisor of Sri Satok PDK.

Earlier, Juma’ani, who is also the chairperson of Petra Jaya Welfare Association (PKPJ), in her welcoming address, said the objectives of the concert were to increase the self-confidence of special children; to promote public awareness on accepting special children and to raise funds to build the new Sri Satok PDK at Jalan Tanjung Selatan near Kampung Patingan in Satok.

She said the inaugural charity concert of Sri Satok PDK on 28 April had raised RM105,000.

Also present at the dinner was Sri Satok PDK chairperson Datin Dr Munirah Hassan and the organising chairman of the charity concert Dr Muhamad Abdullah Zaidel.
