12 CCTVs given to Miri Hospital

MIRI: Members of the Miri Hospital Board of Visitors (ALPHM) have contributed 12 closed circuit television (CCTVs) to Miri Hospital.

According to its statement yesterday the said CCTVs worth
RM19,000 were installed at the Pathology Department. These installations symbolise the success of the CCTV Project Phase Four of Miri Hospital.

“With the completion of this fourth phase of the CCTV Project, there are a total of 45 CCTVs in total available at Miri Hospital.

“This in turn, greatly helps Miri Hospital in launching operations as well as improving the safety of staff, visitors and patients such as recording incidents and accidents that occur in the hospital area,” it said, adding that the CCTVs handing over ceremony from the board was graced by its chairman Karambir Singh Honey on Monday.

Following this, ALPHM stated that it will remain committed to continue raising funds for the Fifth Phase of CCTV installation covering public parking lots around Miri Hospital which requires additional funds of RM25,000 to complete the entire phase of the CCTV project.

Meanwhile, representing the management of Miri Hospital, director of Miri Hospital Dr Jack Wong Siew Yu expressed his gratitude for the initiative implemented by ALPHM.

“The donation has increased the CCTV capacity in the Pathology Department to 16 CCTV units in total.

“Previously, ALPHM has contributed a lot of medical equipment and together with Miri Hospital in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in addition to successfully completing the target of 10 units of iPads to be used for the Pharmacy Information System (PHIS) which aims to facilitate the administration of medicine to patients in the ward,” he stated.
