MIRI: A 12 year-old boy reportedly died in a fire that razed a house in Kampung Masjid Kuala Baram.
Another victim, a man in his 50’s suffered burns of varying degrees covering over 30 per cent of his body.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, 22 firemen with two fire engines from Lopeng and Miri Central fire stations were deployed to the location upon receiving an emergency alert on the fire at 4.59pm.
The boy’s body was discovered inside the house by firemen after they managed to bring the blaze under control.
His body has been handed over to the police for further action.
He was believed to have been trapped inside the house during the blaze.
The scene is located at about 35km from the nearest fire station.
