KUCHING: State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang expressed his joy for the residents of Kampung Bunga Rampai who received their Certificate of Site Possession for the proposed single-storey ter raced houses on Lot 697 to 754, Block 11, Senggi Poak Land District at Kampung Bunga Rampai, Off Jalan Bau, Kuching, yesterday.
The residents received the certificates from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Sarawak. Lo said the certificates generally grant the contractor exclusive possession of the site until completion and it was a memorable day for the kampung folks as they have waited for more than 35 years for such a project to be implemented.
He added that the construction period for the proposed 122 units of single-storey terrace houses is expected to take about 21 months involving an estimated cost of RM23 million.
With the completion of the project, the issues related to flood and landslides will also be a thing of the past.
Witnessing yesterday’s signing and handing over of Certificates to the cont ractor, Saratech Sdn. Bhd were Batu Ki tang Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang, CEO of HDC, Mohamad Asman Ahmad, Bau District Officer, Ms Anielia Ak Siam and Village Chief of Kampung Bunga Rampai , Haji Rafaee Bin Haji Bujang. Meanwhile, Mohamad Asman assured that HDC will monitor the status of the project to ensure it is completed within the stipulated period.
