MIRI: A large 13-foot male crocodile that has been terrorising an oil palm estate at Kampung Labau Kelulit, Bekenu in Miri has been caught with the assistance of the Sarawak Forestry Corporation’s (SFC) Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) last Saturday morning.

“Acting on complaints from the villagers of Kampung Labau Kelulit, our Miri SWAT together with Malaysia Civil Defence personnel and some villagers were able to snare the 300-kg reptile.

“It has since been transferred to the Benaya Crocodile Farm in Miri,” said a statement issued by SFC.

Members of the public are reminded to notify the nearest Forest Department or SFC offices of crocodile sightings in their areas and not take matters into their own hands as these reptiles are vicious and dangerous.
