A total of 14 urban renewal projects have been approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan, with a budget allocation ceiling of RM510.5 million, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

“These projects are currently at various stages of planning and implementation. One of the ongoing projects is the development of Darul Hana, with Phase One fully completed, providing 504 residential units,” he said.

Awang Tengah said that as of April 30, more than 225 households from Kampung Semarang and Kampung Panglima Seman Lama have relocated to Darul Hana and the remaining 92 households are expected to move by the end of this year.

“Additionally, five new Urban Renewal project proposals have been submitted for review under the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan, with a budget allocation ceiling of RM186.4 million,” said the Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development in his ministerial winding-up speech in the State Legislative Assembly today.
