MIRI: Residents of Kuala Niah can now heave a sigh of relief as the Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) of Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) removed a 15-foot male crocodile from Sg Lajong, Kuala Niah near here, Sunday afternoon.

“Responding to a report last week of a big crocodile lurking in the waters of the said river from the Bekenu Constituency Office, our SWAT from SFC Miri sprang into action, setting up three baited hooks last Friday.

“The male croc finally took one of the baits yesterday morning and was subsequently pulled ashore at noon. The crocrodile measuring 15 feet in length was thereafter transferred to the Benaya Crocodile Farm,” said SFC in a statement here, yesterday.
