186 Stutong market cluster samples awaiting results

KUCHING: A total of 186 samples taken from the Stutong market cluster for Covid-19 contact tracing are still awaiting laboratory test results.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said two samples tested positive while 165 samples were negative out of a total of 353 samples taken since Saturday (Jul 18).

 “For the construction site cluster, a total of 292 samples were taken of which three were positive while 289 were negative.

“The engineering company cluster has 189 samples taken of which two are positive and 187 are negative,” he said when delivering the daily Covid-19 update on Monday (July 20).

He said of the 30 samples taken from the Jupiter cluster, two were positive and 28 were negative, and from 196 samples from the Mambong cluster, five were positive and 191 negative.

“For the medical centre cluster, 57 samples were taken with two positive, 49 negative and six still pending.

“For the Jeti cluster, 25 samples were taken, two tested positive while 23 were negative,” he said.

As of Sunday (July 19), Uggah said a total of 61,368 individuals were screened for Covid-19 through rT-PCR tests involving 77,992 rT-PCR laboratory tests for the entire state.

 “A total of 608 individuals tested positive on the rT-PCR test which is equivalent to 0.99 per cent.

“For Kuching Division, a total of 28,309 individuals were screened and a total of 373 individuals or at a rate of 1.32 per cent, tested positive on the Covid-19 rT-PCR test,” he said.
