LIMBANG: It is hoped that the 117 items of medical equipment for 19 rural clinics across this area will make a huge difference to the lives of the rural folk.

Ba’ Kelalan assemblyman Baru Bian said he has been working on getting the medical equipment since 2021, together with Rotary Club of Bintulu Central and LDS Charities (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).

“Thanks to this, they will no longer need to travel to the towns or cities for diagnosis and treatment, except for serious cases.

“I do not doubt that the staff at these clinics will also be relieved that they will finally have more equipment to help them carry out their duties,” he said.

He said this in a statement after attending the handover medical equipment ceremony in Lawas recently.

In the meantime, RCBC’s collaboration with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints aims to bridge the gaps in rural healthcare and their ability to care for more lives.

“However, we recognise that we cannot achieve this alone.

“We express our sincere gratitude to the dedicated healthcare teams in Limbang district for their commitment and assistance in making this initiative possible,” Baru added.

For the record, the project cost RM786,368 and it is under the theme of “Hope” complimenting the government’s efforts in the wellbeing of the people in Limbang and Sarawak as a whole.
