As at March 31 this year, 24,035 hectares (59,390 acres) of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land in Layar Constituency has been approved for perimeter survey.

Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said that the approval was made under the new initiative programme for the survey of Bumiputera NCR land.

“Of the total 23,570 hectares (58,242 acres) that had been surveyed, 23,202 hectares (57,332 acres) were gazetted as Bumiputera Communal Reserve (Agriculture) under Section 6 of the State Land Code,” he said.

He said this in response to the question from Gerald Rentap Jabu (GPS-Layar) on the matter.

Len said the Land and Survey Department had also approved the application to survey one individual lot of eight hectares (20 acres) in Sungai Ban, Betong as at March 31 this year.

“The Land and Survey Department is planning to begin the survey by July this year.

“For the other areas gazetted under Section 6 of the Land Code, the land claimants are advised to submit their applications to the Betong Land and Survey Department for individual survey
