247 computers destroyed

MARUDI: Two hundred and forty-seven computers used for illegal gambling activities which were confiscated by the police from 2013 until 2013 were destroyed yesterday.

Baram District Police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut said the computers were destroyed after police received instruction from the court.

“This involved illegal online gambling cases, which is 23 cases altogether. This is not the end and we will continue to hold operations to curb this menace from time to time,” he said.

Also present were KBSJD, ASP Ruslan Mat Kib and KBP Marudi, Sergeant Johnny Bedu.
