KUCHING: A total of 250 sape players will perform simultaneously at the closing of Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 at the Kuching Waterfront on Sunday (Feb 27).
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah expressed hope that it would set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).
“I believe that is the intention of having a large number of sape players playing at one time. I hope it is going into the MBOR,” he said after launch the Festival Gendang Sarawak on Saturday (Feb 26).
When asked about the issuance of compounds to members of public attending the Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 on Friday night, Abdul Karim said he had not heard of it but believed there must be a reason for the issuance.
“There must be a reason for the issuance of compound, perhaps there were some who did not comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs). However, I do not want to dwell into this,” he said.
