28 dogs vaccinated at mass rabies injection

MIRI: A total of 28 dogs were vaccinated during a free mass rabies vaccination programme held in Sepupok Niah, near here yesterday. Divisional Veterinary Officer Dr Sylmie Al-Harir said it was the first of such programme held outside Miri since the district was declared as one of the outbreak infected areas in September this year.

Up to date, in Miri division, with the conclusion of this round of campaign, a total 11,876 dogs have been vaccinated, Dr Sylmie said. The mass rabies vaccination programme in Sepupok Niah started at 9am and ended at 4pm. Sepupok is about two hours’ drive from Miri city.
